October 12 - 每天记念耶稣基督的爱

Postby `char » Thu Oct 12, 2017 7:00 am

1 Corinthians 11:24-25
24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

The Holy Communion is not just for the remembrance of how the Lord has died for us in the past, but also in the present. Here, Jesus instructed us to "do this" presently and progressively, signifying that we need to constantly remember the life of the Lord and form a connection with Him. It will also cost us our actions when we commemorate the Lord. Being a Christian is not just a life decision made in the past. It means that every single day, we choose to follow God. Because the temptations and challenges faced everyday are different, we need to examine ourselves to identify what hinders us from connecting with our Lord's life, so that we can remove these obstacles in order to be pleasing to God. We are to remember the love of Jesus every day, and live for Him wholeheartedly.
~Jesus wasn't held onto the cross by nails, He was held onto the cross by His love for you and me.

感触的经文:
"The Lord Jesus... Took bread... Broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you...' He took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood..

Reflection:

In Charis, we partake the Holy Communion every month. What exactly is this for? Show? It's for those who believe in the Lord. "In remembrance" of Jesus who died for us and cleanse our sins so that we can live a new life.

"There is only one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread. " How many are the people on earth and those whom are dead? God is that great because every pieces of Himself is a being.

And His blood that "is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. " Now, the number of people, alive and dead, whose sins when all added up even those in the future are all cleanse.

God keeps for(giving) us, not worried that He will be run out, because He knows He have plentiful for all. He keeps giving even though He is righteous and when we are sinners. Because we are His children.

V24-25 - Ritual to remember Christ

*描述*

*可背经文*

*字句*

*用做祷告词*
Dear Heavenly Father,
Omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient God;
Thank-You Lord for Your loving sacrifice even though You could have left me to die, for I am ultimately an undeserving sinner - if not for Your righteousness and salvation.
Forgive me, Lord, for forgetting You when the tides of the world come.
Help me, Lord, to remember You & fix my eyes on You; to not forget Your purpose and love for me.
In the name of Jesus Christ I pray,
Amen

*Personal reflection*
1. Thanksgiving
Jesus Christ gave thanks for the bread before breaking the bread (note that Jesus Christ is God).
If God Himself gave thanks for something so simple, so easily taken for granted, we have no reason not to given thanks.

2. Rituals
The word “ritual” seems to carry some negative stigma associated with summoning circles etc.; but a ritual is actually a way we carry out our lives.

Some athletes listen to music to sooth themselves before their game - the act of listening to music is their pre-game ritual.
Some friends do special handshakes when they meet, before they move into a topic or go somewhere - the handshake is their ritual.
Some married couples kiss before they leave the house - the kiss is their ritual.

Likewise, there are some rituals that should be part of our lives - for we are Christians.
Every ritual is not done without an intended purpose.

Devotions is a kind of ritual too, that makes us go to quiet places or be in quiet states to reflect on ourselves and God’s word.
Reading the bible makes and requires us to quieten down and learn God’s word and the Author behind the Book.
The Lord’s supper is a time for us to quieten down, remember The Lord’s story and reflect on our relationship with Him.

3. In loving memory
How do we remember the Lord?
When we partake in the Lord’s supper, what goes through our minds?

Do we go partake in the Lord’s supper every month without any reflections; treating it as just eating a thin piece of biscuit and drinking a small cup of rose syrup/ribena?
Or do we remember how God chose to come down as a complete man and God, be born in the most humble place, in the most humble state, be despises, trampled upon, hated, tortured, spat on, doubted by and eventually persecuted by His very own beloved creation?
Do we reflect on the reason behind His sacrifice?
Do we reflect on how we have been responding to Him?
Do we communicate with Him?

The meaning communion.

To me, when i really think about what Holy Communion is, theres is so much meaning to it than just remembering Christ.
What i can link Holy Communion to is His revival.
And this is His Glory. This is where the joy is.
Endurance in suffering is joy.

The Holy Communion is like the most important part of Jesus's life, at the same time the whole summary of how we should live our lives!

Breaking the bread is like how Jesus body is 'broken', walk the road of the Cross slowly, bit by bit suffering.
Our life should be this way too. Suffer for the purpose of Cross.
And through suffering, we endure.
And through enduring, we gain Joy
I shall not waver, In Christ my faith stands.

We are constantly in God’s mind but is God always on our mind?

Dear Lord, I want to always think of You and from Your perspective not just during the Holy communion..
I want to involve You in every areas of my life, be it when making decisions or thinking about things..
The best way to remember Your love for me is to involve You and share with You what’s on my mind..
Help me Lord to willingly connect with You daily, not just when I’ve got spare time and when I’m feeling okay..but rather every single moment when I’m conscious, I pray that Lord I seek You intentionally!
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
He is the anchor of my soul ⚓️

昔在 今在 永在 的神, the same God ever since the beginning of creation.
His love for us and His presence never changes, but does ours?
Do our passion die down as time passes or does it grow stronger?

Lord,
You set a fire down in our souls, and i want to thank You for that.
May this flame that was ignited years ago never die down,
Please teach me to allow this flame to burn brighter each day.
In Jesus' name i pray, Amen.

A Christian life is an uphill battle.
A spiritual leader once told me that when we get too comfortable with our lives, we stop growing.
Therefore if you dare, pray for trials and sufferings.

Galatians 2:20
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
It's a new life with God.
Lord let me remember Your goodness even when it's the hardest time to.

Dear God,
Lord forgive me for my self-centered and self-pity thoughts...
Lord let me remember Your grace and blessings in my life, for it's through You I'm able to come this far...
Your love is too great to live ordinary.
In the name of Jesus' I pray, Amen.

Because of our sinful nature, our life is a rollercoaster ride.
We are constantly battling against temptations and sins.
Therefore we have the holy communion, to remind us that the battle is already won.
We need the strength, to continue to stay close to God, surrendering to him.
